Yes, there are still popular assemblies in Germany. These assemblies, known as "Volksversammlungen" in German, are gatherings where citizens come together to discuss and make decisions on local issues. They are often held in smaller towns and villages, allowing residents to have a direct say in matters that affect their community. Popular assemblies are seen as a way to promote grassroots democracy and civic engagement in Germany. **

The Athenian popular assembly, known as the Ecclesia, was open to all male citizens over the age of 18, while the Roman popular assembly, known as the Comitia, was initially limited to patricians but later included plebeians as well. The Athenian assembly had more direct democracy, with citizens voting on laws and policies directly, while the Roman assembly had a more indirect system, with elected officials making many decisions. Additionally, the Athenian assembly met more frequently, sometimes multiple times a month, while the Roman assembly met less frequently, often only a few times a year. **

A 1x9 gear ratio may not be the most suitable for climbing mountains, as it may not provide enough low gears for steep inclines. Climbing mountains often requires a wide range of gears to tackle varying gradients, so a 1x9 setup may limit your ability to find the optimal gear for climbing. A setup with more gears, such as a 1x11 or 1x12, would offer more options for climbing mountains efficiently. **
